Boats and Motors
At Cedar Point Lodge, we operate a fleet of 17 ½’ Lund Outfitter boats with 40 and 50 HP Yamaha 4-stroke engines. We have current motors with half of our fleet purchased in 2013 and the other half two years previous. Our boats are kept in good working order and we have a 4200 SQ’ heated shop to maintain our equipment as well as our own welding shop to do repairs to our props and lower units.
The marina at Cedar Point Lodge is the hub of our operation and there are many reasons why we feel it is one of the best in our area. Whether you use our resort boats or bring your own boats, you can be sure that your investment is protected. We believe that we have the only marina with a rock break wall which protects our marina from the prevailing westerly winds. We have a concrete launch ramp for easy loading and unloading of boats. We have a floating dock system with GFI protected outlets. If you bring your own boat, a 25 foot cord will be ample length to reach a power source. You can drive down to our marina which has ample room for launching boats.
On site you can purchase regular unleaded fuel as well as mixing oil for 2-stroke engines. We are able to do basic maintenance and have our own mechanic to do basic repairs. At our bait shop we have minnows, crawlers, and leeches and our prices are the same at they charge in Vermilion Bay.
We have a fish processing room and for 35 years we have processed all of our guests fish free of charge. We wrap and label your fish for transporting home as well as provide complimentary freezer service for all of our guests.
Probably the most integral aspect of our marina is our outstanding dock service! Our dock attendants are the front line of our operation as they greet and assist our guests each time they go out or arrive back at the marina. We hire energetic, courteous and helpful dock attendants and one of the most common praises we receive is regarding our excellent staff. Many of our dock hands end up working for us during their high school and college education. Our marina attendants are hired for their personality and drive and with our training, become an integral part of our operation. They are usually avid anglers themselves and are eager to help our guests by pointing out some fishing hot spots on a map or passing on information as to where they like to fish.
